Fishermen´s Rib Beanie the Classic

My son asked me a few days ago: "Hey Mom, could you knit a Fishermen's Rib for me? Should look like this."and described them to me precisely in detail. If I could? Of course I can! And I´d love it!

So I dived into my stash, picked out yarns in the desired colors and knitted two or three cozy evenings with Netflix by my side.⁠ Thanks to the simple rib pattern, the beanie practically knits itself and in an blink of an eye you have a finished fishermens beanie in your hands.

The amount of yarn you´ll need is comparatively low, which is great if you have one or two remaining balls lying around somewhere (*possible parallels to real people purely by chance).

My husband has also announced a need and now I'm on the third beanie. :-)

I can tell: This will be the basic beanie for all family members and friends. For me, I´ll like to knit it with a silk mohair thread - oh, that'll be so nice too!

The pattern comes in four sizes:

XS = 52-53 cm

S = 54-55 cm

M = 56-57 cm

L = 58-59 cm

YARN 50/50/100/100g Pure Merino DK or Lana Grossa Bingo*

DPN 4,0 or

Circular Needle 4,0, 40 cm - my favourite is this one

For the typical look of a fisherman's hat, the hat is worn like a cap with the cuffs turned up wide.The dimensions in the instructions refer to this wearing style.
