Hi, my name is Sascia

I am the author of narrative handicraft books and live with my family, my dog, three cats and a flock of chickens in our cozy country house - in the shade of a large walnut tree. I love working and crafting as much as possible by myself.

As a child I loved working with needles and threads, sewing, embroidery and crochet. I did not learn knitting until the birth of my first child. I used books to teach myself and since then - with occasional trips to the sewing machine, embroidery or crochet - I have never stopped.

In 2006 I started sewing Waldorf dolls and knitted their wardrobe. At first I sewed only for my children, later for friends and finally I exhibited my dolls in handicraft markets. In 2011 I started my blog epipa. In 2014 my first book " Zuhause selbstgemacht " appeared, in 2015 my second book " Häkeltraum & Winterzauber " and in 2016 my third book " Wintertraum & Strickzauber ". In 2017 the French editions " créations crochet " and " créations tricot " appeared and in 2020 I published my fourth book " Einfach nachhaltig stricken ". In 2021 the english Edition "Sustainable Knitting for beginners and beyond" was published. Im Januar 2022 erschienen die schwedischen und dänischen Übersetzungen "Virka pynt, presenter och accessoarer" und "Hyggehækling - Tilbehør, pynt og gaver"

My work and photographs have appeared in numerous magazines, including country life, living & garden country house, love country and others.

Nature inspires me in everything I do - its warm colors, clear shapes and elegant simplicity inspire me every day. I would like to share my love for nature and handicraft in my books and here on my blog with my readers.

I love gloomy rainy days when I brew a pot of tea, snuggle up in the warmth and work with wool and needles for hours. I love long walks with my dog in the field and forest and slow living.
