The name Snowdrift comes from the shapes and eddies that the wind paints in the snow. Theses shapes are always beautiful and fascinating for me on my walks with the dog. One day, I wondered if I could manage to capture these swirls in a knitting pattern, so I went home and started experimenting.
After some trial and error, the exact pattern was finally created that perfectly draw my ideas with yarn into a pattern.
I hope you like it as much as I do and you enjoy reworking as much as I enjoyed designing this pattern.
The beanie is knitted in the round from bottom up using two threads - a fingering weight rustic natural wool and a mohair yarn. The amount of yarn you´ll need is comparatively low and perfectly suited for the one or two remaining balls some projects left behind - my beanie weighs a total of just under 60g in size L.
Pattern in two sizes:
S = 56-57 cm, tight fit
L = 58-59 cm, loosley fit
You´ll need:
YARN 50/50g Shiny Merino and Lana Grossa Silkhair*
DPN 3,5 and 4,0 or
CIRCULAR NEEDLE 3,5 and 4,0, 40 cm - my favourite is this one
SKILLS Knitting in the round, decreasing, increasing, cables

FIT S for tight fit, L for loosley fit
The brim will be worn turned up so that it warms the ears nicely. The measurements in the pattern refer to this wearing style.
Yarn exchange: Instead of the rustic natural yarn from a local shepherd that I use, any other light yarn that achieves the same gauge together with the mohair yarn can be used.
